What is Pathway to Podium?

The Tasman Pathway to Podium Program is a partnership between High Performance Sport New Zealand, Sport New Zealand, and regional stakeholders led by Sport Tasman to provide athlete development support to emerging athletes in the pre-high performance phase of their sporting pathway.

This is an exciting programme for the Tasman region to provide support to talented athletes & coaches that are constantly produced from our top class facilities, knowledgeable sports minded people and loyal funders.

The overall objective of the Pathway to Podium programme is:

“To establish a partnership between NSOs and Regional Talent Hubs that provides athlete development support to emerging athletes in the pre-High Performance environment”.

What does it involve?

An introduction into the high performance sport environment through a series of educational workshops as well as strength and conditioning support. The topics covered in the workshops include: Performance Psychology, Sports Nutrition, Athlete Life and Drug Free Sport

Coaches  and parents of the athletes involved are also involved in educational workshops on the same topics.

One on one support is also provided to athletes in the above areas and Individual Performance Plans developed in conjunction with their coach and NSO.

How can I join the program?

There are two ways to join this program:
