Sport Tasman supported by NBS is a funding initiative for families where financial hardship is a barrier to participation in physical activity. The fund allows more tamariki and rangatahi to take part in physical activity opportunities by providing the financial assistance they need. The fund provides a grant to remove or reduce the registration fee for a sport.
The programme covers Nelson, Tasman, Marlborough, Buller and Kaikōura.
Current Eligibility:
- Region - Nelson/Tasman/Marlborough/Buller/Kaikōura
- Age Group - 5-18 year olds
- Current community service card holder
- Limit - Up to $30 per child/per family (ages 5 to 12yrs)
Up to $50 per child/per family (ages 13 to 18yrs) - Funding rounds are processed monthly
When approved the grant is paid directly to the club or organisation and any difference between fees and funding is not covered by Sport Tasman.
